I aim to create a safe and containing space for queer, trans+, and sexual minority couples and couples of color to process their relationship priorities. I approach therapy as a form of “ethical listening” to feelings, dreams, thoughts, and anxieties, whether within individuals or in a couple or family. My approach is informed by psychodynamic theories of the unconscious and attachment, which I integrate with providing evidence-based and practical approaches to helping your couple challenges. After we work together to assess and understand what is causing your relationship distress in a safe environment using evidence-based assessment tools, we will utilize various techniques to address your specific challenges in context. I respect variation in culture, language, relationship structure (e.g., nonmonogamy) and seek to collaborate with couples to customize treatment for you, based upon what is available in the scientific community on what works. I welcome you to contact me for a consultation for couple therapy today.
