About

After graduating from Athabasca University with a master’s degree in counselling psychology, I wanted to expand my therapeutic approach to couples due to my passion in guiding clients through their relationship distress and hardships. Disagreements and judgments between couples often arise when they struggle to accept one another’s beliefs and values. Rather than judge differing worldviews, I help couples work through conflict by honouring each other’s viewpoint. Once couples learn how to get their needs met without causing tension and arguments, they gain renewed hope for establishing love and connection.

Therapy also involves enhancing love and connection by eliminating communication styles that move them further away from bonding and intimacy. I offer research-based interventions in order to help clients develop communication styles that enhance friendship, mutual respect, and affection.

I am a certified Gottman Therapist and the approach I use is predominantly from the Gottman Method with some emphasis on Emotion Focused Therapy. With over 40 years of research, the Gottman Method has proven as highly effective for helping couples build better friendship, manage conflict, improve intimacy, and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s inner world.
