About
Many couples seek my services because their marriage is without passion, trust has been violated, or hope seems like a faded memory. I partner with individuals and couples in restoring hope. It begins with developing a deep marital friendship, learning how to navigate marital conflict, and learning the art of repair after conflict. As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I work with individual clients to overcome the trauma of grief and development of tools to manage anxiety, depression and life transitions. As a Christian Counseling practice, I am deeply influenced by the Counsel of God for guidance.
Having been Level 3 trained in the Gottman method and Certified in the "7 Principles that make marriage work", I utilize the marital research of John and Julie Gottman including Treating Affairs and Trauma. I have also completed an annual core skills training certification in Emotion Focused Therapy by Dr. Susan Johnson and advanced year long training from the Center for Complicated Grief at Columbia University.
Having been in the Pastoral Ministry as an Associate Pastor for 18 years, I understand that in Partnering one must be willing to journey into the pain and despair with the clients in my care. Developing an environment of trust and safety is critical to the successful healing process. I am energized by clients who authentically desire to overcome difficult challenges toward health and wholeness.
