My philosophy of counseling begins with the recognition that people experience problems which result in conclusions they form which cause negative emotions that impact their choices. I focus on what clients believe about themselves and how those beliefs shape their behavior. Using the evidenced based models of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (GMCT), I helps clients identify the anxious thoughts and feelings learning how to accept them. Together with the client, we re-frame perceptions in light of discovered truth and create new perceptions that influence their thoughts and feelings.

I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Marriage Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Colorado and have been in private practice since 2012 in Colorado Springs Colorado. I am a certified Sexual Addiction Recovery Therapist (SRT) specializing in sexual addiction recovery, trauma therapy for individuals, couples and families, depression and suicide, and anxiety.

I have worked extensively with individuals and families moving through the depression and suicide, issues with anxiety, sexual and betrayal trauma. I have been trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy (GMCT) for couples who have experienced trauma or affairs in the relationship.

I view the counseling experience as a shared journey with the client in discovering their "best you" resulting in a stronger sense of self to carry outside the counseling room and into their daily life and relationships.
