About
I am a mental health and clinical social worker and have been practising marriage and family therapy over 30 years. I have extensive training in systemic & strategic family therapy, solution focused brief therapy, mentalization based therapy for families as well as clinical hypnosis. I have completed all levels of Gottman couple therapy training and is a Certified Gottman Therapist.
In the last 30+ years, I have been specialising in working with children and young people who suffer from significant mental illness as well as couples who suffered from relationship difficulties with a co-morbid mental health condition including anxiety disorder, depression, drug and alcohol dependency etc.
In working with couple, I integrate the Gottman Method of Couple therapy with systemic-strategic, solution focus and clinical hypnosis concept into my clinical work. I chose the gottman method for couple therapy because it is research and evidence informed as well as it provides a very practical and skill based approach to couple to learn to resolve their relationship difficulties. The approach is very empowering and generate hopes for couples.
I believe most people have more resource than they are aware. People have more capacities to learn more skills than they know of themselves. Therefore, as a therapist, it is my job to work with them to discover their potential and find their own solutions to their difficulties.
In my practice, I offer psychosocial treatment to the followings:

Child and Youth Mental Health
Parenting difficult adolescent

Anxiety disorder
Panic Disorder
Trauma and PTSD
Drug and Alcohol Dependency
Chronic Pain Management
