About

I am a Certified Gottman Therapist, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and Florida and a Sex and Couples Therapist. I work with a variety of relationship and communication issues including reconnecting with your partner, relieving the hurt caused by betrayals and/or affairs, loneliness, depression, anxiety, divorce and LGBTQIA+ issues. Along with the research based integrative approach used with The Gottman Method, I also incorporate an eclectic style of therapy that is multi-modal in intervention. Therapeutic styles include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Talk Therapy, Mindfulness Training, Imago techniques, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I care about your well-being and by utilizing The Gottman Method's therapeutic approach, my aspiration is to provide hope to struggling couples.

I am a school educator/trainer turned therapist when I found that my true desire was in working with couples. In the beginning years of my counseling, I was a mental health liaison to a school district and worked with troubled youth in the educational and judicial systems. I would hear the struggles from the parents/caregivers regarding their personal relationship issues and witnessed how their disconnection negatively affected the child. I focused much of my work in helping the couple find their way together again. I found that the children thrived when the couple was able to achieve a stronger relationship and I knew then that working with couples was my passion and where I felt like I fit in this world.
I have experience in schools, community behavioral health centers, juvenile justice systems and in private practice. My services include weekly counseling sessions, premarital counseling and intensive/marathon therapy sessions. I also provide workshops and speaking engagements.
