Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5:00 pm and Monday evenings
I see all couples regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or marital status. Couples therapy is a great way to strengthen and improve your relationship. I work with couples who are dating, engaged and ready to move on to the next level, or who have been together for many years.
I conduct 90-minute sessions for couples therapy to allow the time to fully process and work through the Gottman interventions. I understand the challenges and time-demands upon modern couples and conduct a thorough and comprehensive assessment of your relationship to target the areas that need strengthening and strategically work to increase relationship satisfaction.
I understand that weekly therapy might not work for every couple. I offer short intensives, three hours or six hours, where you, one couple, works for that time with one therapist, and the intensives are based on Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I know that you desire change and offer this option as a nontraditional approach to meet the needs of my clients.
I view my work with clients as a collaborative relationship that promotes understanding, healing, and growth. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and bring much to the table, and I want to walk with you through this process.
My clients appreciate my calm demeaner and how I provide support and a sense of safety in the session, but I do not shy away from giving direct feedback or challenging beliefs or thoughts that might be impeding progress.
I encourage and welcome my clients to discuss their religious or spiritual values and am happy to incorporate your beliefs in whatever way feels comfortable.
I am currently under the supervision of David M. Lawson, Ph.D., LMFT-S, license #2137.
