About

As a clinician who is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I know and understand the power in this approach. While I use it regularly in my work with couples, I have seen the impact it can have for the individual experience as well.

In my work, I look extensively to the framework and tools Gottman provides, from skills building around communication management and processing, to deepening understanding of strengths and struggles. I approach each therapeutic experience from a person-centered lens and believe my clients are the experts in their relationships and lives and that my role is to attune, support, guide and share from the knowledge and experience I bring. Through this, we are able to collaborate and establish a path – and cadence – that works for the individual(s).

When implementing Gottman Method, I will sometimes use it as the framework and container that holds the work together, while incorporating skills from other models where they might prove additionally beneficial, such as Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Systems Theory, and Bibliotherapy.
