About
Dr Reza Nejad is a Clinical Psychologist, Director of Prime Path Psychology, and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. He holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide and is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Reza has more than 25 years of experience working with individuals experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties, including trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, grief and loss, OCD, health anxiety, anxiety disorders, and depression. He also has extensive experience working with couples experiencing relationship difficulties, communication problems, conflict, emotional disconnection, and other relationship concerns. He works with couples from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and provides both face-to-face and telehealth services across Australia.
His approach is collaborative, evidence-based, culturally responsive, and tailored to the unique needs of each couple. He is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, with a particular interest in helping couples improve communication, manage conflict, strengthen emotional connection, and address relationship difficulties.
Reza has extensive experience working with trauma and PTSD. He is a Certified Prolonged Exposure Therapist and Consultant and a Cognitive Processing Therapy Provider. He has also completed EMDR training. Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR are evidence-based psychological approaches used in the treatment of PTSD and trauma-related difficulties.
In addition to Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Reza provides a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
