About

Hello! My name is Richard Yerry LCSW-R, and I am a psychotherapist licensed in New York State (License #084511). I offer in-person and/or telehealth counseling for individuals and couples.

I am passionate about helping individuals & couples to overcome the issues that are limiting their ability to live a more fulfilled life. I have a breadth of experience working with educators, family caregivers, healthcare professionals, along with first-responders (military, police, firefighters, paramedics/EMTs).

My approach to couples therapy is grounded exclusively in the Gottman Method. My style is dyadic, emotionally-focused, and skills-based, with the goal of helping partners learn to understand and support each other so effectively that they become their own couples therapists over time; I’m not here to play referee or to force anyone to fundamentally change who they are, but to help couples build tools they can use long after therapy ends.

I welcome and am comfortable working with individuals & couples of all political beliefs, sexual orientations, religious backgrounds, and relationship structures.
