About
Jill was at her breaking point with Jack. After years of marriage, she felt more like a roommate than a wife. Jack would come home from work, exhausted, and head straight for the TV without really checking in on her day. When she tried to share how overwhelmed she felt—with the kids, the housework, and the emotional load—he often got defensive or simply shut down. The small things piled up: forgotten special dates, sharp criticisms, and a growing distance that left her feeling unseen and unappreciated. Deep down, Jill still loved Jack and wanted to feel connected again, like true partners, but she knew they couldn't fix this alone.
Jack, on the other hand, felt overwhelmed in his own way. Work demands were relentless, and he carried the pressure of providing for the family. By the time he got home, he just wanted peace, not another conflict. Jill's frustrations often came out as complaints or reminders of things he hadn't done, and he didn't know how to respond without making it worse—so he withdrew. He missed the laughter, the closeness, and the ease they once shared, but every attempt at conversation seemed to turn into an argument. Jack realized he was probably missing her subtle reaches for connection. He cared deeply and wanted to be a better husband, but he felt lost on how to break the cycle.
They were both frustrated. When they tried to talk, they would end up not talking... feeling criticized and unheard.
I help couples like Jill and Jack rebuild their friendship, clearly communicate, and be receptive to each other's needs.
I also work with couples with histories of addiction or trauma.
