Even the most loving partnerships will at one time or another experience a need for relationship support. Becoming parents, preparing for marriage, career shifts, grief and loss, or infidelity can all test a partnership. One of the secrets of sustainable marriage is continually engaging in relational attunement and growth. Love magnetizes us into relationship, but many of us lack the communication skills and relationship practices to continually nurture our partnership. The Gottman's work provides a research based road map to improve your relationship and work through the difficult moments in a marriage.
I help couples to connect more deeply and stay together through major life transitions. If your partnership is stuck in repetitive conflict, disconnection, resentment or monotony, I will help you build a bridge towards each other. Past relational hurts, traumatic histories, and unmet bids for connection can undermine even the most loving relationships. In couples therapy we will address the past, foster constructive communication and expressions of love, while building a sense of shared purpose and understanding.
If you are in need of a skillful, warm, caring therapist who will help you engage in meaningful relationship work, you are in the right place.
Your relationship can be the greatest source of joy and satisfaction in your life, or a source of pain and distress. When it's clouded with unhappiness, how do you find the way back to the warmth of love and contentment?
In our therapy work we will clear a path towards a new iteration of your relationship. Couples therapy will leave both partners with concrete tools, as well as increased connection and openness in the relationship so your partnership can weather the twists and turns on the path of life.
