Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9am-9pm. Marathon counselling some weekends.
Ros practices Gottman Couples Counselling (Level 3 Training). She structures sessions to help the couple develop more effective communication, so each partner gets their needs met and the relationship provides a safe refuge to both. Together, we will explore the deeper meanings of concerns held by each partner. If feelings overwhelm, we will work with that. Angry, sad, fearful, hopeless, exhausted? All feelings are welcome here. Come as you are.
Ros uses Gottman printed exercises, applies current brain research, and various materials and somatic ‘noticing’ to enhance communication. Ros also is fully trained in EFT Couples Therapy (EFT Core Skills, & Sex, & Addictions).
Ros is particularly sensitive to how culture, religion, raising children, and experiencing loss may affect family and couple dynamics. Ros offers counselling for people with disabilities, for those who support loved ones with dementia, for those who suffer with chronic or acute illness (cancer in particular), or who have experienced trauma (EMDR trained). Ros incorporates Mindfulness Based Art Therapy as needed also.
Sessions are 1 ½ hours minimum; frequency of sessions depends upon couple needs, availability, and types of concern.
Marathon couples counselling sessions also can be booked, for 3+ hours to a full weekend, to accommodate clients living in more remote regions, or clients with extremely complex schedules.
Ros' office is conveniently located opposite the Joyce St. Skytrain station with express buses to UBC, & Phibbs Station. Free 2 hour parking. Bike room lock-up. The building is fully wheelchair accessible. Ros' office is warm and inviting.
