About

Providing couples therapy is one of the most meaningful and rewarding aspects of my clinical work. With 17 years of experience working with individuals and couples impacted by trauma, I bring a trauma-informed and relational perspective to understanding the challenges that can emerge within intimate relationships.

Trauma can take many forms, including difficult childhood experiences, abusive or unhealthy relationships, sexual trauma, loss, betrayal, or other painful life experiences. The effects of these experiences do not always remain in the past. They can emerge within relationships as irritability, emotional reactivity, difficulty regulating emotions, feeling easily overwhelmed, withdrawal or isolation, decreased patience, mistrust, and difficulty feeling safe or connected to a partner.

I work with couples who are committed to understanding these patterns and creating meaningful, lasting change in their relationship. Rather than focusing solely on the argument occurring on the surface, I help couples identify what is happening underneath the conflict—the emotions, vulnerabilities, attachment needs, past experiences, and patterns that may be shaping how each partner responds to the other.

I specialize in working with couples navigating:

- The impact of trauma and past experiences on their current relationship

- Infidelity, betrayal, and relationship repair

- Chronic conflict and emotional disconnection

- Rebuilding trust and emotional safety

- LGBTQIA+ relationship concerns

- Substance use and its impact on couples and families

- Complex family and relational dynamics

My goal is not simply to help couples argue less, but to help them understand one another differently, interrupt patterns that keep them stuck, and develop the skills necessary to create a relationship that feels safer, more connected, resilient, and fulfilling.
