Provides online therapy
Everyday I am humbled by the opportunity to work with people who have the courage to take a look in the mirror and work on themselves. I believe in psychotherapy as an opportunity for growth and development no matter where you are in your life; whether you are seeking support in a time of crisis, are suffering from a mental illness, would like to enhance your relationships, or are simply curious about who are and how your mind works.
My approach to treatment is rooted in psychodynamic and relational frameworks although I tailor my technique to each client’s needs. I emphasize understanding the whole person and value the importance of change beyond symptom resolution but also to increase self awareness and individual growth. I feel strongly about the importance of recognizing and maximizing your strengths, as many of us fail to see much of the resilience we already possess.
I take an interactive approach and believe that psychotherapy is an important space for laughter, fun, creativity, and play, as much as it is a place for pain. You will find that I am not afraid to crack a joke or shed a tear when the moment is right and that I will be myself when I sit with you.
I enjoy working with people from all different walks of life and have worked in various settings including private practice, community mental health, employee assistance (EAP), hospital, and college counseling. I have worked extensively in university counseling centers and am experienced in treating young adults and young professionals. My research and clinical background have also afforded me a unique area of expertise in campus sexual assault. Other areas of interest include depression, anxiety, trauma, transitions, grief/loss, and relationship difficulties.
