My lifelong passion to understand relationships has found a home in Gottman Relationship Therapy which I've been practicing for over 9 years now. We all "learn" how to do relationships in our earliest years from our parents and caregivers. as a result we tend to pick up dysfunctionasl habits especially when strong emotions are involved because, lets face it, parents aren't mind readers and neither were their parents. When I see you as clients it's the relationship itself that is my actual patient. I firmly believe good couples counseling is not "gotcha' or finger pointing but is improvement of relationship and communication skills. I have participated in Gottman Level 3b - Consultation Training in Gottman Method Couples Thereapy as well as IRRT training for PTSD and integrate that into my treatment. I have extensive experience in treating couples who've experienced affairs and the presence of PTSD symptoms that result as well as couples struggling with the stress of newborns and the disconnection that occurs after focusing through most of a marriage on raising children. My goal is not only to help heal and stengthen your relationships while you see me but to empower you to know how to and what to do without me so your satisfaction lasts after our work together is complete.
Along with treating couples where affairs or pornography use has damaged their relationship I also have extensive experience in helping Christian couples learn to integrate their faith into their marriages in a more satisfying way, helping relationships struggling under the burden of depression, anxiety issues and mixed families having difficulty with blending.
