About

I am a clinical psychologist specializing in couples counseling. Couples therapy is both an art and science. The Gottman Method brings evidence-based science and I am well versed in the method but I love the 'art' part of working with couples at all stages of life using the Gottman approach.
I have been in practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and Walnut Creek, CA for 20+ years. I am in practice with my husband, a clinical neuropsychologist (www.ogradywellbeing.com) I devote a large portion of my practice to helping couples achieve the most satisfying and healthy relationships possible. I especially love working with couples as they face life transitions such as parenthood, empty nest, retirement, job loss, medical or pain issues, and work-life balance conflict. I am certified in Mindfulness-based Emotional Balance and credentialed in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Cognitive Therapy. I am a registered yoga therapist (RYT-200)

I served as Chief Psychology Fellow at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. I worked at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo for eight years and developed a protocol for the treatment of medical and pain problems. I am Ethics and Professional Relations Chair of The Contra Costa Psychological Association where I serve as a Board member and past-president. I am a member of The American Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association.

I blog regularly and have written for WebMD on topics related to emotional health and relationships. I speak to groups dealing with chronic medical problems and I specialize in helping couples with a wide variety of issues, including infidelity, parenting issues, work-life balance, conflict management, loss of romance and intimacy, sexuality, and infertility.
