Blue Cross/Blue Shield
As a therapist, I work with people in all stages of life to help them understand themselves better and feel more balanced, healthy and confident. I have extensive experience working with a wide variety of issues. I am especially interested, though, in helping people through periods of transition, from dating, marriage and children to career changes, reconciliation, divorce, illness and bereavement. I am a trained Grief Recovery Specialist.
A central focus of my practice is on couples work. Couple come to see me at all different stages of their relationships with very different needs. It could be as early as serious dating in an effort to determine if already emerging issues can be managed, or well into a relationship where difficulties may range from apathy, perpetually reoccuring gridlock on specific issues, tensions around sexual issues, fighting, parenting dilemmas to affairs and separation. I focus on the issues specific to each couple and also each member of the pair to determine why something is particularly problematic. Very specific interventions which we practice together are determined and then taken outside the therapy room. We do this while simultaniously examining the relationship as a whole and understanding why certain dynamics are occuring for the purpose of an ultimately improved and more satisfying partnership.
Heterosexual, bisexual, same sex couples are all welcome in this practice.
