About

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, currently residing in San Diego California with my husband and two sons. I graduated in 2001 with a Masters degree in Clinical psychology from a respected University in my native country Bulgaria. I later continued my studies at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and at National University, San Diego, where I completed the rest of my courses to receive a Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy. I am in private practice since 2013 when I passed my licensing exam. In my work I use approaches from different theoretical schools and am somehow eclectic. I can be helpful to couples and families who struggle with communication issues, parenting, acculturation, addictions, blended families and healing after infidelity. My special training in clinical hypnosis and expertise in helping people who are depressed or anxious makes me suited to work with families, that are dealing with a loved one affected by mental illness. My approach to therapy is a balanced blend of using research based interventions and consideration of clients' unique needs. I strive to help my clients formulate meaningful goals for the therapy and teach them tools to achieve them. Ultimately my hope and goal is to support them in living a meaningful life.
