Welcome! I have been licensed for nearly 30 years and have experience with a wide range of common developmental and psychological concerns faced by individuals, couples, and families. I have a special interest and long-term experience working with college students and couples. However, I also enjoy working with individuals from all phases of life and I collaborate with other practitioners to meet mutual client needs. I formerly served as the director of a university counseling center. I'm retired from teaching Counseling Psychology courses for the University of Kansas, and maintain my clinical practice with Sastun Associates. Clients can expect me to take a caring, culturally sensitive, and strengths focus with a collaborative treatment approach. I frequently use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy with my clients, however, I will adapt my approach to best meet the client's needs. I have pursued advanced training in Couples and Family therapy, including Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am a Certified Gottman Therapist and am now able to offer the Art and Science of Love workshop for couples. Also I am a Gottman Seven Principles Couples Leader and a Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator. In addition, I am a Gottman Level 1 trainer. I am also EMDR trained and a Registered Play Therapist. My practice is constantly evolving to stay abreast of current trends and research in the field of Psychology.
