Dr. Tanja Haley is a psychologist in private practice in North West Calgary, Alberta. Tanja holds a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary, and has worked in a variety of settings from single-session walk-in therapy to longer-term counselling. In the course of her career Tanja has taught at both the Master's and Ph.D. level, and has extensive experience supervising beginning psychologists.

Dr. Tanja has been working with couples for over 18 years, and she was the first fully Certified Gottman Therapist in Alberta. She is also certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and weaves attachment themes and emotions into her work with the Gottman Method. Her approach in working with couples is to start with a very thorough assessment of their areas of strength and areas that need work. Based on that assessment, Tanja will work with each couple to change their negative emotional patterns and create a closer connection, along with teaching them skills and tools for managing conflict more effectively.

Making the decision to do couples work can be a scary and overwhelming experience. Finding the right fit with your psychologist is critical, and Dr. Tanja understands that. She always meets with new clients for a free initial half hour in-office consultation to answer any of your questions, hear a bit about what you and your partner would like from therapy, and share a bit about her approach with you. To find out more about Dr. Tanja and how her services might fit for you, please feel free to contact her.
