It’s no small feat to do the work of exploring racial history, country of origin, intergenerational dynamics/trauma(s) and then having to navigate relationships. I can really empathize with this journey because I’ve been doing this work myself since my early 20s. I was born in Vietnam and raised by a single mom in East Side San Jose. Statistically, I was not supposed to make it to college much less graduate school. Children of immigrants often lack resources to mental health so I didn’t realize until college that I had been struggling with anxiety and depression since I was a child. This not only affected me but also my relationships. It’s been a long (but mostly successful) process learning to navigate life and figuring out how to find peace in myself and my relationship. I hope to be able to provide the same experience for you.
