Congratulations on taking care of yourself and your relationship by seeking out counseling. This step is often quite difficult to make. You may be desiring a change within yourself and in your relationship that is of value to you. You may find yourself blocked in your ability to think clearly and be understood. You may be looking for more effective ways to manage your relationships and the issues you are facing.

As a Certified Gottman Therapist, I am fortunate that my personal and professional experiences have integrated in a way to be helpful to couples. While raised in the Central Valley of California in a large family of doctors and nurses, I have always known the value of our individual and relationship health. Inherently I have been sensitive to the importance of truly being known as an individual while also being able to live well and supportively in a family unit. This background has given me great awareness of the natural differences among us all and how these differences can create and enhance healthy and intimate relationships.

I earned both my bachelors and masters degrees from Arizona State University, working with people of all ages, from children to the elderly. In returning to the Valley, I began a rewarding career working in a variety of medical, mental health, school, work and academic settings. My career has included employee assistance services, community mental health screenings and critical incident response. I have taught undergraduate psychology courses and graduate students in counseling, and have supervised MFT Interns and provided counseling to graduate students in the field.

I am a Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and hold a Community College Teaching Credential in Psychology. It is my fortune at this point in my career to continue post-graduate work in couples therapy directly with the Gottmans and The Gottman Institute in Seattle.

I have never been more inspired in my work and with the opportunity for continued professional training as I am now as a Certified Gottman Therapist. I see the great benefit of having research based tools to assist couples to use on their own. These powerful tools, and this counseling process, can help you create the closeness and satisfaction your desire in your relationships.
